.nz domains are getting more expensive 🙁
InternetNZ, the not-for-profit registry and regulator of .nz domains, are adding 22% to the wholesale price of every .nz domain from 1 July 2025. Since it’s a wholesale increase, it affects every .nz domain retailer and this will apply to registrations and renewals of every domain on the .nz ccTLD, including .co.nz, .org.nz, .net.nz, etc.
InternetNZ says that since their last price rise in 2020 “the direct cost of running our infrastructure has increased by approximately 75%, and resource costs have also increased by approximately 30%”. With low-or-no growth in the overall number of .nz domain registrations, they are left to spread the burden over a more or less static number of paying customers.
Sadly, we don’t have much of a choice but to review our pricing and increase it from the current $32 +GST to $39 +GST /year starting 1 July for .nz domains and to $35 +GST for .com domains.
There’s still time to beat the price rise
Before July, our old prices still apply. Get your registrations or renewals in before then to lock in future years of domain ownership at today’s prices.
From June to September, earn account credits
From 1 June to 30 September, we’ll give you an account credit of $5 +GST for every .nz domain that you transfer to us from any of our competitors.
